What is a Behavior Issue?
Any behavior that doesn't fit well into human or dog society.
Bear in mind that a behavior that we might label an "issue" could be completely normal in the dog's world. We consider this when recommending a plan to either eliminate or modify the "problem" behavior.
Often, behavior issues have many more layers to them than immediately apparent. "Instant" solutions rarely work with these issues. Take for example, barking when you leave the house. An "instant" solution might be a bark collar. However the underlying cause (anxiety related to being alone) still exists. Without addressing the cause, the "instant" solution will only be temporary or worse, abusive.
Why Can't I Just Read a Book?
It seems like everywhere you look there is a new TV show or book claming to have the "secret" to "curing" whatever behavior problem that has possesed your dog.
You might wonder why you should take the time to schedule a one to one profession behavior consultation.
