What is a dog behavior issue? Any behavior that has the potential to cause physical or mental harm to a person or another animal.
It seems like every week there is a new TV show or book claiming they have the secret to cure whatever behavior problem has possessed your dog.
Book and TV advice may work for a handful of simple dog behavior issues, but many behavior issues are not simple. At the root of your dog’s issue there might lie a medical cause, a complex chain of learned responses, anxiety with multiple triggers or another less obvious cause. A professional behavior consultant peels back the layers of your dog’s issue and offers sound steps to begin modifying the dog’s behavior.
Bear in mind that behavior we consider an issue might actually be normal to the dog. We consider this when recommending a plan to either eliminate or modify the problem behavior.
Help us understand the issues you are having by completing our Behavior History Form.
