Between 8 and 16 weeks is the most critical developmental time in a puppy’s life. During this time puppies are hard-wired to absorb and evaluate the world and all the experiences it offers. Begin early with puppy training to make sure your dog starts off right.

Puppy Preschool provides exposure opportunities to varying sights, sounds, smells, textures and environments. We introduce a few basic control commands.

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come

Common behavior concerns such as housebreaking and chewing are discussed.

Finally, proper social interaction with puppies and people is encouraged.

Puppy Preschool has “rolling enrollment,” which means you can join the class and begin your six week series of classes at any time. Your puppy must have received their first round of vaccinations, including Canine Cough, to attend class.

Basic Obedience
  • Teach your dog good manners.
  • Instruct them to respond to basic commands.
  • Train them how to properly walk on a leash.

Puppy Training Questions and Answers
How early should I start my puppy's training?

Just like with a child, training your puppy to behave from the very beginning is easier than correcting bad behavior later in life. The best time to start training a puppy is between 8 and 16 weeks of age. This is a critical development period in their life when they are hardwired to absorb the things around them.

How long will it take to train my puppy?

We highly suggest enrolling in our Right Stuff Program. This includes Puppy Preschool and Basic Obedience. Both classes combined will provide a solid foundation for your new puppy.
